Variable drives for industrial automation

Made by Rexroth, EFC 5610 is a range of intelligent variable-frequency drives, for use up to 7.5kW in the variants stocked by RS.

They It offers vector control and a torque curve with high starting torque.

Features include expansion options via I/O and fieldbus modules, a control panel with parameter copy function, an integrated Modbus interface for networking and an STO (safe torque off) option to meet Cat. 4/PL e, SIL3 levels for application where safety is paramount.

“Offering flexibility with tailored functionality for various application and custom solutions, the converter features a compact integrated design. This means less wiring effort is required, thus new installations and retrofits are straightforward,” said RS.

Firmware and parameters can be updated via USB or Ethernet with free system commissioning software, such as ConverterWorks from the manufacturer – which runs on Windows for commission and remote control of the converters, allowing start, stop, speeds to be specified and parameters adjusted.

Applications are foreseen in logistics, material transport, conveyors, roller tables, mixers, agitators, centrifuges, building material machinery, plastic production and machine tools.
